Lisa Kouzes, DC typically uses a hands-on approach for treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Treatment often involves a procedure called an adjustment. This involves guided movement of a restricted joint or region by Dr. Kouzes to restore normal motion. Dr. Kouzes tailors her technique to accommodate each individual's preference.

Treatment techniques include:
  • Manual Adjustments (diversified technique)
  • Activator Adjustments (not method)
  • Drop Table
  • Pelvic Blocks
  • Pin and Stretch
  • Mobilization
  • Massage
  • Trigger Point Therapy

Exercises are often prescribed for patients to perform at home as an adjunct to the in-office treatment. Progress is usually faster with exercises and stretches and fewer chiropractic treatments may be required.

Other types of treatment include:
  • Ice/Heat
  • Ultrasound
  • Electrical Muscle Stimulation
  • Exercises and Stretches
  • Home Exercise Programs
  • Ergonomic Advice for Home, Work, and Travel
  • Nutritional Advice
  • Evidence-Based Supplement Advice
  • Stress-Management Advice

What should I expect at my first visit with the chiropractor?
After being greeted you will be asked to fill out intake paperwork. Once completed, you will be escorted to your room and Dr. Kouzes will meet with you to evaluate your condition. She will then inform you of a diagnosis and provide a treatment plan. After you agree to treatment, an adjustment may be performed and exercises or stretches may be discussed. When your care is completed you will be escorted back to the front desk where the receptionist will schedule a follow up visit.  Treatment frequency is determined by the severity and nature of the condition.  Occasionally, Dr. Kouzes will order imaging studies to further investigate a patient's condition.

Dr. Kouzes works with allied health professionals and the patient's primary care physician will often be apprised of the patient's progress for continuity of care.
