Dr. Kouzes graduated valedictorian with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in 2007. She achieved her undergraduate degree in 2002 at the University of California at Santa Cruz in molecular, cellular and developmental biology with highest honors in the major.
Her practice emphasis is on conditions involving the muscles, bones, and joints. She applies the principle of short term care to obtain long term results, and incorporates exercise and home based activities to help patients become independent.
Dr. Kouzes is paneled with most major health insurances carriers. However health plans have specific benefits and you should check with your carrier about your plan’s coverage of chiropractic care.
Dr. Kouzes served on the Rules Committee of the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners (OBCE), before being appointed to the OBCE in 2013 and elected secretary in 2015. Dr. Kouzes' will reach her two term maximum on the Board at the end of May 2019.
Dr. Kouzes was voted to be the alternate District I Director for the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards (FCLB), which supports licensing boards across the nation and in Canada.
Dr. Kouzes volunteers with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiner's (NBCE) Part IV exams evaluating the clinical skills of chiropractic interns as part of their prerequisite for state licensure.
When not working Dr. Kouzes enjoys spending time with her family, doing Pilates, running with minimalist shoes, and working in her garden growing native plants, restoring a natural bog area, and growing a variety of vegetables, fruits, and berries.
