Dr. Kouzes achieved her undergraduate degree in 2002 at the University of California at Santa Cruz in molecular, cellular and developmental biology with highest honors in the major, and graduated valedictorian with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in 2007. While a senior intern she participated in OHSU's complementary and alternative health care panel.
Her practice emphasis is on conditions involving muscles, bones, joints, and nerves. Treatment usually includes muscle work, exercises, and chiropractic adjustments performed either manually or tool assisted. Dr. Kouzes also takes time to understand a patient's whole health, allowing an hour or more for new patient visits. She enjoys working with patients and other health professionals to find appropriate solutions to whatever health conditions and goals there may be. Dr. Kouzes is paneled with most major health insurances carriers. However health plans have specific benefits and you should check with your carrier about your plan’s coverage of chiropractic care.
Dr. Kouzes has gained a passion or public protection and chiropractic regulation after being appointed by the Governor to the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners in 2013 and serving two consecutive terms ending in 2019. She remains active with the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards as an alternate district director and with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners as a volunteer examiner for national testing.
When not working, Dr. Kouzes enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and new baby girl. Other activities and areas of interest are Pilates, yoga, weight lifting, running, swimming, gardening, restoring nature areas, hiking, making kiefer, and growing vegetables.
